چکیده

Photodissociations induced by intense short laser pulses are investigated using a generalized Floquet formulation. This formulation replaces the continuous electric eld shape function by a discrete step function. An initial active space is deened by using the Bloch's wave operator theory and the corresponding target spaces, in which the dynamics is connned, are built for each new discrete value of the electric eld magnitude. A powerful computational method of calculation of dissociation probabilities is elaborated upon by calculating and storing some basic data at each step of the discretized shape function : the eigenvalues of the target spaces, the overlap matrix between two successive groups of Floquet eigenvectors and nally the projection of the Floquet eigenvectors onto the bound states. The calculation is achieved by exploiting these data in a fast integration of the dynamic projected into the active space. An illustrative example, concerning the photodissociation of H + 2 reveals that the procedure is particularly suitable for studying the innuence of the pulse shape.

A wave operator description of molecularphotodissociation processes using the

During the last few years the Floquet matrix approach to the theory of intense-eld multiphoton dissociation processes has undergone 1 a revival of interest which is due to the emergence of new powerful algorithms within the complex quasivibrational energy formalism. The method presented here shows that the Bloch wave operator theory is, in the framework of this theory, an eecient tool to select...

A MODEL STUDY OF LASER ISOTOPE SEPARATION BY PHOTOIONIZATION OR PHOTODISSOCIATION PROCESS

In this study, the selective photoexication of isotopic mixtures by laser light is investigated. Atomic and molecular methods are examined and rate equations are derived for both cases. Two and three step photoionization techniques are considered and rate equations are solved for ion yields. The molecular photodissociation process is also studied and the dependence of the dissociation produ...

Time-dependent transition amplitudes between bound and continuum states coupled by an intense laser field are expressed in terms of their energy-dependent analogs maintaining the coherence effects through the intervention of complex molecular dressed states (field-induced resonances). A coupledequation method combined with an artificial-channel technique, properly describing the preparation ste...

Quantum molecular dynamics driven by short and intense light pulses: Towards the limits of the Floquet picture

Photoinduced quantum molecular dynamics is numerically investigated using two different Schrödinger formulations based on adiabatic (“bare”) and Floquet (“dressed”) molecular state representations. Computer simulations for the two approaches are compared in terms of numerical accuracy and efficiency where special emphasis is laid on the limit of very short and intense laser pulses. The optical ...

Multiconfigurational pseudo-Hartree approach for the „t , t8... propagator of a molecule in short laser fields

A method to study the rotational dynamics of a molecule interacting with a single short laser pulse or a train of pulses is proposed. The method is based on the observation that for such pulses the time propagator, in the st , t8d formalism, can be expressed as a function of approximate Floquet states given by eigenstates of the one-period time-averaged rotational Hamiltonian multiplied by appr...
